I went back the following week and tried again, this time using the green screen background instead of the chroma-key, which involved a slightly different, more simple method of lighting. This footage worked much better on screen, and was easier for Jodie to manipulate. As we need to get a full body shot of the fairies, which is more difficult to light, I went back yet again and tested it again, Jodie said that this was the best one we had done which was a relief for me. We shoot the real footage of this on wednesday 30th April. Hopefully all will work out, but as I have practiced already I am sure it will.

Testing Green Screen
For Ms Holloways Garden, there is some green screen involved. The green screen is needed to place a fairy onto a plant pot, for the old artist to draw and interact with. Green screen is a tricky method to perfect, so I read up on the best ways to light it. We went into the green screen studio in University, where the green screen tutor kindly offered to teach me and help out. I did some tests the first day using the chroma-key method, and then I gave Jodie the footage for her to test it. This footage did work, but not very well, as the lighting was slightly off, meaning that some of the subject was being cancelled out by the green screen.
